A reading of the things that happened after the Christmas Story
Luke 2:40-52

Picture yourself as a parent who has lost a child.
Or when you lost your parents in a crowd as a young person.

And the child grew and became strong, filled with wisdom. And the favour of God was upon him. Luke 2:40 

How beautiful are the feet of the one who brings good news... Isaiah 52:7

Train-up a child in the way they should go; 

even when they are old, they will not depart from it. Proverbs 22:6

All children grow.

What direction they grow-in matters, though.

Proverbs 1:7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge; 

fools despise wisdom and instruction. 

Jesus learned and grew, like the rest of us.

The Epiphany
The appearance of a star that led to the appearance of the Magi.
The confirmation of what God was doing to Joseph and Mary.

The situation on the ground when the Magi came to visit Jesus

helps us to understand the intensity of the politics involved in the clash of the kingdoms at the time of the Cross.
