Romans 1:18 

If you sin, and seek to justify yourself  

you "by (your) unrighteousness, suppress the truth"

Jesus draws our attention to the excellence John has shown in the role of prophet 

and then contrasts this with the place of the disciple of Jesus.

Galatians 5:22-6:10 

The message today is that the meek and lowly servant of God, 

following God, simply, faithfully, 

makes all the difference in the world 

and is great.

Like the widow of Nain, maybe you are facing hopeless circumstance.  

But God promised to comfort those who mourn.

There are no small places in God's kingdom.  

God knows what you are going through and He has compassion.

Where God is at work, word gets around.  

Jesus answers questions on His authority 

with the evidence of His diety

Jesus shows us the faithful witness of a man walking in the power of the Holy Spirit

After the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus moves on to another place 

and is met by a person with great faith 

who is not a member of the Jewish community.  

The story of the centurion from Luke 7.

This humble, honest Centurion 

is confident of what he hopes for from Jesus.  

This is faith.

The kingdom of God is a real kingdom 

that depends on unity and cohesion.  

When we depend on God, 

we are also depending on the servants of God to do His will.
