Jesus very seriously points-out to the Levite,
The main problem of humanity.
The issue where we all fall short.  
The place where His death on the cross is the only solution.

Jesus, God in the flesh,
is patient with a religious expert
as he tests the Messiah, to see if the man Jesus knows what he is talking about.  
Jesus shows the importance of applying the heart of God honestly and equally.

sent in pairs, to spread the good news
about the coming kingdom of Heaven.

Luke 10:2 “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few.
Therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest
to send out laborers into his harvest."

the Lord is not telling us to go and argue with people, but it does direct us to go to everyone, and tell them about His coming kingdom!

God tells us the root of the problem in John's gospel 3:19-21

Jesus discusses the Cost of Discipleship with eager, would-be followers.

None of us is 'good enough'.
(but it doesn't depend on US being good)
Jesus is the perfect sacrifice.

Jesus calls us to consider the 'cost of discipleship';  
and THEN to trust Him as we say yes!

God 'saves' people by calling them out of the dead world.
